We recognize that people in the bleeding disorders community are courageous, resourceful and driven to succeed. Whether it be managing your treatment or your physical and mental health, we know how dedicated you are to taking care of yourselves and each other, but this is just one aspect of your lives.
As someone navigating a chronic medical condition, how do you work toward long-term personal goals like achieving your professional ambitions? It’s a tough balancing act, and it can be difficult to know where to start. Living with a bleeding disorder shouldn’t stop you from reaching your full potential, and in fact, the qualities that help you to overcome these challenges can help you in the workforce.
That’s why we at Genentech are proud to bring you HemeWork™, a program designed by and for the community to unite, inspire and support you in achieving your professional development and career goals. We understand that now, more than ever, seeking new employment or even a career change can be an especially daunting process without support. We also know that creating a resource that reflects the experiences and concerns of people living with a bleeding disorder requires a collaborative approach, which is why input from the hemophilia community, including the Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) and bleeding disorders advocates across the country, has been a critical component to bringing you this program. We’re thrilled to highlight the work that HFA has been doing in the community for years and will be sharing their resources to complement this program.
This program is yours, and we hope the stories and resources within this site will help you and the next generation of the bleeding disorders community to follow your dreams. We are honored to be a part of your journey and look forward to growing HemeWork together.
Now let’s get to work!
